Lorazepam can cause mental and physical dependence - the risk increases with the dose and duration of treatment. Abrupt discontinuation of treatment may lead to withdrawal symptoms (e.g. general confusion, sensitivity to sounds and other stimuli, insomnia, anxiety, depression, etc.). The drug should be discontinued gradually under the supervision of a doctor. The described problem indicates the need for medical consultation and the possible implementation of other drugs that will be able to alleviate these ailments. Ideally, the whole process should be supervised by the doctor who previously ordered the treatment with Lorazepam.
