Does diarrhoea impair the effectiveness of contraception and could I have gotten pregnant?

Hello. I started taking the first pack of birth control pills. Today I am at the beginning of the 3rd week. I take pills 21+7 days off. I developed acute diarrhoea yesterday, which continues to this day. I took the pill at 8, then after 2 hours diarrhea occurred. The last intercourse was two days ago. Is it possible to get pregnant?

You should take the next dose immediately and use additional protection for the next 7 days. Pregnancy should not occur if diarrhea occurred yesterday and intercourse occurred two days ago. Nevertheless - if from now on you decide to have sexual intercourse, please additionally protect yourself with a condom. If diarrhea persists and additional symptoms such as fever, vomiting appear - please consult a doctor. I encourage you to familiarize yourself with useful materials related to the topic: https://www.gdziepolek.pl/kategorie/biegunka https://www.gdziepolek.pl/artykuly/jak-prawidlowo-stosowac-antykoncepcje
