It is not recommended to use a solarium when using contraceptive rings, due to the risk of skin discoloration. Patients who have or have ever developed chloasma (golden-brown pigment spots) are particularly vulnerable. When it comes to the effectiveness of contraception, the use of a solarium does not weaken it.
