Hello! I come forward with a question. My grandmother is taking Eliquis 2.5mg. For over 3 years she has been struggling with skin problems of unknown origin. The problem began on the legs, red spots, scabs, subcutaneous papules. The skin is irritated, itches. Did any of you have side effects after this drug and how did you deal with them?

To @Zina:
Side effects observed should be reported to the doctor, who will decide on further treatment.
We write about why adverse drug reactions should be reported here:

If you are unable to consult your doctor, you can use the teleconsultation here:

The advice is provided in Polish.
After taking eiliquis 2.5 mg, I have severe itching of the body. I have been taking it for 2 months.
I confirm, my grandmother has the same thing. She stopped it a week ago and it was over. It was the same with xarelto, although I think to a lesser extent. In addition, subcutaneous haemorrhages have occurred.
Good evening.
My husband takes Eliquis 2.5 twice a day.
He has never had any skin problems but every now and then he forms micro creatures that move causing itching... Has it happened to someone else??? Let's avoid unfortunate jokes thanks to those who will give me an answer
It's hard to give an answer because I have a similar problem, I have itchy skin mainly on my legs and most below the knees. Unfortunately, it's hard for me to say if it's because of the drug or if it's some other kind of thing. I've been taking eliquis 2.5mg twice a day for a few months now, but I'm not sure why itching is happening. I'm also interested in some possible antidote for this itching

The skin symptoms described by you are not listed as side effects of Eliquis in the product characteristics. In this situation, it is important to consult your grandmother's attending physician or dermatologist. If there is a suspicion that grandmother's skin problems may be related to the use of Eliquis, the doctor may decide to change the medication or dose, or take other appropriate therapeutic steps. If you are unable to get to your primary care doctor, the GdziePoLek.pl service also allows you to obtain a teleconsultation with a doctor: https://www.gdziepolek.pl/telekonsultacja I enclose a link to the page where you can check the availability of the drug in pharmacies in Poland and make a reservation of the drug in the selected pharmacy: https://www.gdziepolek.pl/produkty/26713/eliquis-tabletki-powlekane/apteki I encourage you to read additional materials that may be useful: https://www.gdziepolek.pl/artykuly/przewodnik-po-lekach-przeciwzakrzepowych
