The orthopedist prescribed me Coxitex 90 mg in connection with shoulder degeneration. I'm trying to get pregnant with my partner. Is it better to suspend our efforts during the period of taking the drug? Can the drug have any longer effects on fertility?

According to the summary of product characteristics: "Etoricoxib (Coxitex) is not recommended for use in women planning pregnancy, like other COX-2 inhibitor medicinal products." "Etoricoxib (Coxitex) is contraindicated for use in pregnant women. If a woman becomes pregnant during treatment, the use of etoricosideb must be discontinued." As stated above, efforts to become pregnant should be held off during treatment with Coxitex. The drug has no long-term effect on fertility (or at least the manufacturer does not mention it in the product characteristics), but it may have a detrimental effect on the development of the fetus at the time of use. Due to the rather long duration of action, I suggest waiting several more days after discontinuation of the drug.
