As a rule - Proton pump inhibitors work by reducing the secretion of acids in the stomach (PPIs are e.g. omeprazole, pantoprazole, rabeprazole). Coffee and alcohol that irritate the gastric mucosa should be avoided, while consuming them in small amounts, occasionally, at least 2-3 hours from the drug - is allowed.
