Does the antibiotic Polamoclav weaken the effectiveness of Atywia Daily tablets?
19.99 zł

Good morning. I take Atywie Daily. With the 5th inactive tablet, I started taking the antibiotic polamoklav, which I have to take 7 days (March 27). Since Sunday (April 1st) I have been taking active pills from the new bilist. Today I finished taking antibiotics. Does this antibiotic affect contraception? The internist said that not in the pharmacy the lady said that yes and I do not know whether to use mechanical contraception for 7 days from the end of the antibiotic. Best regards

To @Karo: Since your partner was wearing a condom at the time of ejaculation, don't worry. You were protected from pregnancy and I see no indication to take the pill after. However, such drugs are only available on prescription, so if you still have any doubts about this, you should consult a gynecologist. And if yesterday my partner entered me unprotected and then put on a condom and just finished in it, should I recognize that there is a risk of pregnancy and use the pill the day after?

The antibiotic may weaken the effectiveness of contraception, so an additional form of contraception in the form of a condom should be used throughout the period of taking it and for 7 days after stopping taking the antibiotic.
