There are no contraindications to perform gastroscopy when using preparations with famotidine. In the case of a urease test for the presence of Helicobacter pylori, it is recommended to stop using preparations with famotidine at least 48 hours before it is performed. Famotidine may result in a false negative urease test. If you have been recommended long-term use of the drug with famotidine, I encourage you to consult a doctor before performing diagnostic tests. Your doctor will prescribe the right course of action for you.
