At discharge from the hospital, it was recommended to take Mirzaten Q-Tab 15mg at a dose of 0-0-1/2, i.e. half a tablet. I have doubts about splitting the tablet, which decomposes in the mouth. The instructions on the package instruct you to put the tablet in your mouth immediately after unpacking. Is it possible to divide the tablets that decompose in the mouth and whether the unused part of the tablet is suitable for later use (how to store this half?). At the hospital, the Mirzaten tablet was previously unpacked and put in a container along with other medicines.

Mirzaten Q-Tabs are orodispersible tablets. This form of the drug is delicate and sensitive to moisture, in contact with a humid environment it can go into a semi-liquid form. Therefore, it is recommended to take it immediately after removing it from the blister. The division of these types of tablets may affect the release of substances from it and its uneven distribution in two parts. Unfortunately, mirtazapine (the active substance Mirzaten) at a dose of 7.5mg is not available on the market. I guess that guided by the dose that is required for you, the doctor ordered the division of ODT tablets. Please keep the split tablet pack in a dry place away from moisture until your next doctor's appointment.
