Good morning. The son was given the antibiotic Phenoxtmethyl-penicillin. 125mg / 5ml Dose 4x 5ml, while on the leaflet writes 3x 5ml every 6h. The son weighs 15kg. Isn't that too much Dose? Please advise. Thanks in advance

The dosage of phenoxymethyl penicillin (i.e. the drug recommended to the son) in children between 1 and 5 years of age (I assume this age based on body weight, please correct me if I am wrong) is 4 x daily 125 mg, i.e. 4 x daily 5 ml. In my opinion, the dosage is correct, but if you still have doubts, you should contact your doctor. I would like to remind you that during antibiotic therapy in children, it is worth using a probiotic cover to avoid post-antibiotic diarrhea.
