An allergic reaction after drinking water-soluble electrolytes or multivitamins may take place when the patient is allergic to one of the components of such a preparation. It is more likely to react to an excipient (aroma, dye, sweetener, etc.) than to the vitamin or mineral itself. You should carefully check the label and look at whether there are ingredients that could potentially trigger an allergic reaction in a person.
