Erythema contagiosum (the so-called fifth disease) is a viral disease caused by infection with parvovirus B19. It proceeds with a characteristic butterfly-shaped rash or struck cheeks on the face. In the following days, on the limbs, the rash is arranged in the shape of garlands. During the illness, a mild fever or subfebrile condition may occur. How to treat infectious erythema? Will painkillers, antipyretics, antipruritic drugs and electrolytes help?
