The incidence of attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) in schoolchildren varies at 2-10% – in boys, this condition is 4-5 times more often diagnosed than in girls. Early diagnosis and treatment of ADHD in children can prevent the occurrence of a severe and chronic course of the disease in adulthood. Prescription drugs such as methylphenidate and atomoxetine are used for treatment. Omega-3 acids, zinc, vitamin D and magnesium can be supplemented as an adjunct.
