Hello, today I should stick a new patch Evra after a 7-day break, but unfortunately I had to change the patches for contraceptive pills, these are Madinette pills and my question is whether I have to take the first tablet today due to the fact that today is the day of sticking the first patch from the cycle or rather wait until the period and stick on the first day of the period? And after what time do these pills begin to work?

In order for the protection to be preserved, the first tablet should be taken on the day when you would normally stick the first patch from the new package. Extending the 7-day break will reduce protection. If you have not taken your first Madinette tablet after a break of more than 7 days, you should use an additional form of contraception in the form of a condom for the first 7 days of taking the tablets.
