Is it possible to drink alcohol since gynalgin is a renal drug and acts topically? Can a small amount of e.g. a glass of wine combine with alcohol and lead to a disulfiram reaction?

Do not drink alcohol while taking Gynalgin as you may experience an alcohol intolerance reaction. Alcohol consumption in combination with the use of metronidazole may cause an alcohol intolerance reaction (the so-called disulfiram reaction). At the same time, the manufacturer informs that "the probability of side effects when using Gynalgin is small, because during the vaginal use of metronidazole the concentrations it reaches in serum are small". In my opinion, alcohol consumption should not be a priority over health, even if the potential risk of side effects is small. Here you can check the availability of the drug and make a reservation at the pharmacy: https://www.gdziepolek.pl/produkty/34072/gynalgin-tabletki-dopochwowe/apteki
