The safety of Deflagyn has not been studied when taken orally. The gel does not contain flavors or fragrances. The preparation is recommended for vaginal use, therefore its taste and smell have not been tested.
Other vaginal preparations may be used at least 2 hours after application of Deflagyn, which may suggest the time needed to remove excess gel from the vagina to the outside.
However, if you use Deflagyn gel in connection with HPV infection, I encourage you to refrain from oral intercourse for the duration of the treatment. This will prevent the virus from being transmitted to your partner.
