What should I do to keep my contraception effective if I took the pill 10 hours earlier than usual?
9.99 zł

On Saturday, I took the contraceptive pill 10 hours earlier (at 8 am), and I should have taken it at 6 pm as usual. What should I do on Sunday to maintain the effectiveness of contraception? I will add that I have been taking Sylvie 20 tablets for several years now and this was the 2nd pill from the package (there is currently bleeding) and on Friday I had intercourse. I don't want to change the time of taking the pills, but if I take it on Sunday at 6 p.m., 34 hours will pass

If the interval between contraceptive pills is more than 24 hours, the risk of reducing their effectiveness increases. If you plan to take the pill at the usual time, i.e. at 6:00 p.m., use additional protection (e.g. condoms) for the next 7 days.

The intercourse that took place on Friday is protected, provided that you take the Sylvie 20 contraceptive pill regularly. Taking a second pill from the pack 10 hours earlier than usual does not affect the effectiveness of contraception.

Please continue to take the tablets regularly as scheduled.
