Combining the drugs Neurotop (containing carbamazepine) and Cipralex (escitalopram) can be problematic. Neurotope is mainly used in the treatment of epilepsy and affective disorders, and Cipralex is an SSRI antidepressant used to treat depression and anxiety disorders. The use of both drugs at the same time may reduce the effectiveness of Cipralex and at the same time intensify the side effects of Neurotope. Additionally, both drugs can affect the nervous system, which increases the risk of side effects such as drowsiness, dizziness, and coordination problems.
If the medication is prescribed by the same doctor, please follow the dosing schedule. If you notice that the effect of Cipralex is too weak and the treatment does not work, or if you experience dizziness, drowsiness, feeling too tired or other worrying symptoms, contact your doctor.
