Diosmin (Diosminex) is not classified as a diuretic and is not used to increase urine output. However, by improving lymphatic drainage and reducing vascular permeability, diosmin may indirectly contribute to the reduction of edema. This may give the impression of a diuretic effect, but in reality the mechanism of action is different from that of typical diuretics such as furosemide or hydrochlorothiazide.
