Do I need to switch from Depakine chronosphera to Levetriacetam?

Hello, I would have a question on the forum. Is there a need according to the doctor to replace depakin chronospehra in a dose of 2×500 with a change of drug to Levetriacetam? My son has been taking them for 8 years, there have been epileptic seizures several times, recently there have been no seizures for a year.

As a pharmacist, I cannot recommend a change of medication without a full assessment of the patient's clinical condition.

The decision to switch from an antiepileptic medication such as Depakine Chronosphere (valproate sodium) to Levetiracetam should only be made by a specialist physician who knows the patient's complete medical history and can assess the effectiveness of the current treatment. Switching to Levetiracetam should only be considered if significant side effects occur or if seizure control is inadequate.

If you have doubts about this situation, it is always worth consulting a doctor who can provide more personalized advice. If you are not able to make a face-to-face visit, I attach a link to the online teleconsultation:
