Whether Pimafucort in the ointment has the same effect as Pimafucort in the cream and can be used interchangeably ?

Although both drugs contain the same quantitative and qualitative composition, they differ in their indications for use. It is not recommended to use them interchangeably.

Both formulations are indicated for the short-term treatment of superficial skin diseases that respond to corticosteroid therapy but are not caused by primary microbial infection and concomitant secondary infections caused by bacteria and fungi sensitive to neomycin or natamycin.

The difference between the preparations is that Pimafucort in the form of a cream is recommended for the treatment of acute and subacute conditions, as well as lesions located within the hairy skin and skin folds.

On the other hand, Pimafucort in the form of an ointment is recommended for the treatment of skin lesions accompanied by dryness, peeling or cracking of the skin, especially in seborrheic dermatitis.
